Story of the style
Sydney 74 became the last world title in the Soling class for Paul Elvstrøm, who arrived in Sydney with the 1969 victory and a third place in 1971 to his name. Elvstrøm was still affected by an accident earlier in the year, where he was struck by the boom and had to take some precautions. However, the trio led by Elvstrøm had done their preparations to perfection and took the GOLD in Australia.
