Story of the style
Poole 81 was made possible by a collaboration between Elvstrøm Sails in France and Denmark. Paul Elvstrøm was asked if he wanted to lead a French/Danish entry in Poole in the Half Ton class. The crew had a fantastic start to the event and won the first race, followed by 2nd place in races 2 and 3. Expensive mistakes put them on the back foot in race 4, but they fought back and took the GOLD by 185 points.
