Story of the style
La Baule 57 was a significant turning point in the career of Paul Elvstrøm. He entered the rather new 505 class and won GOLD in the 1957 World Championship in La Baule, France. The 505 was an instant hit with Elvstrøm, who named this class his all-time favorite. Adding to it, the 505 was a class in which Elvstrøm would achieve great results during the late 50s and the 60s.
