Elvstrøm’s idea of opening a sail loft proved to be an outright success. By 1968, Elvström Dinghy Sails had moved twice, as it had grown out of its own facilities in size. The natural expansion was to move into a real factory for the first time – and this happened in 1968, when Elvstrøm opened his new premises in Kokkedal in the area North of Copenhagen.
